HISTORY:
Although the idea started in 1924 with company Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik, it wasn't until On August 18, 1949, when Adolf "Adi" Dassler split with his brother Rudolf and registered the “Adi Dassler adidas Sportschuhfabrik” with 47 employees in the small town of Herzogenaurach, Germany developing and manufacturing shoes for athletes. Interestingly, this German multinational company now includes Reebok sportswear company.

Currently I can only find department store style boxer briefs but they have in the past produced briefs.
